9 Full Brain Meditation Techniques

Hopefully you’re taking plenty of time to meditate and you’re getting better and better at it. Hopefully you are appreciating the value of enjoying yourself rather than fighting with yourself.

Relaxation

So, now that we’ve gotten to this relaxed state with ourselves start noticing, when you meditate, that this thing we call ‘the conscious mind’ has very different modes.

The Left Brain

One of those modes is what we call the left brain. It’s the thing that can add up numbers. Like if I ask you, “What’s 2+2, and you know it’s 4. It’s the thing that is capable of hearing the language that’s coming out of my mouth, going into a video recorder, coming out your side on a video and going into your ears and turning it into concepts of things that you can understand.

It’s incredible that your brain is able to do it!

We call this mode the left brain. It’s the part of you that can think about the past and plan the future.

Do you remember one of our previous videos? We realized that it’s always now. No matter that you’re thinking about the past or thinking about the future the actual moment of thinking is in this now moment. So, we don’t have to worry about trying to be in the moment.

Try to notice, really notice, that left brain thing. That’s the thing we’re always trying to get rid of… and I say the best way to get rid of it is to notice it. So just really notice it and appreciate it.

Right Brain

Now let’s switch over and start noticing what we would call the right brain. This is the mystical brain. It is always there. Always silent.

It feels like it’s in the background, but it’s not. It’s just as much in the forefront of your talking consciousness, as that left yacking brain is.

Now, in your meditation time, relax with it. Get to the point where you’ve got “blah blah blah blah blah,” humming along. All the conversations and yakking things are going on without you worrying about it. Just let that be like a hum in the background.

Don’t worry about it.

You’re probably reaching a point now where you’re staying awake while meditating more and more. You’re drifting away less and less. This is a good time to consciously notice that there is so much going on inside you. So much of it doesn’t need words.

This is what we call the right side of our brain. And it’s every bit as important in our day-to-day life as the critical thinking brain is.

This part of your consiousness is why you know how to walk over some place and then find your way back. If I say, “Where’s the grocery store?” You can picture in your mind what it takes for you to get from where you are right now to the grocery store (and hopefully back). You don’t have to put it into words. It’s a spatial understanding.

Like when you’re driving along and seeing things. You notice them as you go by. It’s a very right brain sort of a thing to do it. It’s spatial.

Time

The exact time doesn’t matter to the right brain, because it’s about observing and seeing.

For instance, when you’re with somebody and you just click. You suddenly have this intuition who they are. That is the part of you that has blended with this person. The right brain doesn’t see you as separate from anything.

Advanced Studies

So now, start paying attention to that part of yourself which is brilliant. Like, when you have a revelation and you’re suddenly realizing that pieces of something just fit together? That part of your brain.

If you start on purpose, paying attention to it, you’ll notice that you can bring this to the forefront anytime you want. That’s why I say the mystical experience is always happening. If you just slow down and relax you’re in it. It’s not like it just started. It was already there. You’ve just exercised a muscle to help you see it more. You’ll find that it’s so natural, so normal.

Your positive emotions are there: love and bliss and appreciation. All those things reside inside your mystical mind.

You may say, “Wait, no, love is in in my heart.”

But yes. This right brain part of our self does not divide things that way. My whole body and nervous system, and my blood and everything is all involved equally in in this part of myself.

Continue Mediating

So just sit and more and more, you’ll notice that this is coming to the forefront. for you. Really appreciate it. Spend some time appreciating yourself.
