Rabia was a mystic in the 1st century. All these years later we really aren’t any different. Rabia was trying to show the people in the village that you have to look for a thing where it is. You’re not gonna find it looking for it where it’s not.
That’s exactly what non-duality is telling us. That’s why we go through this whole process of, “Not two. Not two.” Looking for all the things we are not.
You are not things outside of yourself. You are not the thing that you’re looking at. Mysticism is in you. That’s where you’ll find it. But that’s where we don’t want to look because we think that it’s dark inside.
In actuality there’s nothing inside you that’s separate from anything that’s outside of you. There’s literally no separation. There is no darkness in there. But we have to go over it, and go over it, until finally we’re able to realize it. See it. Find it. Know it.
So, at the very least… start looking in your Hut. That’s where you dropped your needle. You will find yourself in yourself.
More accurately, you are not in there. You are that.
