If we know that nothing can be separate from unity, and thoughts definitely happen, then thoughts are not separate from unity.
You might believe that thoughts are bad. Thoughts aren’t me, thoughts are illusion, thoughts are this, and thoughts are that. But we know from experience that thoughts definitely happen. Right? Something is happening there.
Your thoughts can be ‘about’ separation, but the thought itself is just a thing that’s happening. If you speak English the thoughts go through your head in English. If you speak Russian the thoughts would go through your head in Russian. If you speak multiple languages maybe they go through in various languages. But they’re there.
Scientists cannot go into your brain and dissect it and come out with a thought to show and measure. Like, here’s a thought about the environment, and pull it out and say this is it.
But it still exists.
The feeling of separation that you get when you are lost in your thoughts, when you’re sucked into the fantasy of thoughts, also exists. That feeling of separation exists.
Separation itself doesn’t exist, but the thoughts about it do, and the consequences of it do. Nothing is separate but your feeling of it invades your life. It informs your life.
So too, knowing that all is in unity can inform your life.
You’ll know that you’re actually understanding it, and seeing it more often, if you become less self-absorbed. If you spend less time thinking about your own needs and more time thinking about things that are part of unity.
Noticing beauty is an example. Thinking about how you help your community, how are you relating with your family, how are you participating in the world, how can you be more steady and strong and trustworthy, is an example. You’ll know that you’re getting out of the cyclone of your own self-absorption when you notice that you’re thinking more about how you impact the world than how the world is impacting you.
These things are all real. They’re all part of unity.
The fact that there are eight billion human beings on the planet who are completely self-absorbed definitely exists. Right? It would be different if we had eight billion people on the planet who were awake and aware of their impact on the world… that could exist.
When it does happen then it will be real. Our working towards that is real.
My projection into the future is that this could happen. That’s a real projection. My imagination that it could actually happen is a real imagination. My working towards making this happen is also a very real thing.
So everything is part of unity. You, me, time, space, our impact on the world, our thoughts, our beliefs: they are all real.
We wake up when we start seeing the world as real, real, real. It can be done right this minute.
How does that change your day-to-day life?
