An Undivided Self

An undivided self. What would that be like?

It would not be full of confusion.
It would not be easily swayed by tricks.

What’s funny is, as I’m saying this, I’m thinking that this shows the beauty of non-duality. Because both my statements were in the negative. If I tried to give qualities to the undivided self, in a positive way it would get confusing.

You’ll notice that just above I said, “It’s not this, it’s not that. If I tried to say what it is, it would immediately become complicated. Also, if you believed me, then you could try to pretend to be it.

I say that it’s a state where there’s no confusion. If I say it’s a state where there’s clarity and certainty, then those are things that can be pretended.

So what is the state of non-duality?

In actuality, you live in it most of the time. That’s where you are when nothing is going on. It’s that moment when you’re listening to beautiful music, or enjoying a beautiful sunset, sitting by a stream.

Sometimes it happens with crisis. That moment where nothing makes sense… and you have to just stop.
