The mind doesn’t want to be in charge. It’s like a poor, lost little child that knows it has no business trying to be the boss, and yet… must because the parent is not home.
As long as you are not knowing who you are, not taking the reins and responsibility of your own existence, the mind is going to desperately try to manage things. Its job isn’t to be the boss; its job is to simply provide you with all the information that you need. And that applies to all sides: your left brain and your right brain. It’s about your critical brain that knows how to add things up, memorize things, come up with concepts and ideas, and your mystical mind that knows how to blend with things, see the patterns in things, and enjoy the beauty of things. Neither of these is qualified to be in charge because they’re just a little tiny part. It’s as if you tried to have your hand be in charge. Your hand is just a part of you; it can’t be in charge. It’s just part of the whole being that is you.
So your mind doesn’t want to be in charge; it’s a tool.
The second it lays down, it will be such a relief.
In Buddhist teachings, they say the master has come home.
The mind doesn’t want to be in charge. You, however, have everything necessary to be the master of yourself, to be the one in charge of yourself now. Never, never forget we are part of a fully integrated whole. When achieving self mastery you don’t become a separate master that’s walking around.
When the divided mind, is no longer in control, then the being that is part of all existence comes awake.
