The bottom line is that studying any sort of spirituality will not do us any good unless it grounds us in the natural world. Unless it sits us firmly into the world the way is not through our illusions. Generations before us would have had the luxury of drifting away in their imaginations and living lives disassociated with the natural world. But we can’t do that any more. In fact, it’s the disassociation that has led to today’s environmental crises.
So our question is how to be more real in a way that isn’t cynical and divided. How to be real in a way that brings us together with each other and will all the other living beings sharing our earth. Even the rocks. All the living rocks, plants, trees and stars. We know we are on the right track when our perception expands to include it all
