There is No Path

There is no path because you are going home… and… you’re sitting in your living room.

We all inhabit ourselves. It’s easy to get hypnotized into thinking that we don’t, but we do. You’re always there; you’re always awake. Imagination can drift off, misconceptions can drift off, but you’re always there.

So, there actually is no secret. Spirituality, finding the truth in the enlightenment traditions, is about finding yourself. It’s about realizing who you are. Then, at that point, there is a secret because you can start piecing everything else together.

Think about that. Almost all these spiritual traditions talk about a path. And then also say there is no path, because where’s that path going?

Going on a path will always lead away from you, from where you are. The path leads away.

People might say, ‘Oh, I can circle around and come back to myself.’ No, that can’t work because it’s you walking along the path. Everywhere you go on a path is you going on a path.

There’s no path because you’re trying to come home, and you’re sitting in your living room already.

You’re already there so how can you get there?

All you really got to do is open your eyes. Then, ‘Ah, it’s light in here.’
