Non-duality will not save you because there is nothing for you to be saved from.
Look at it the other way around… We have to first be convinced that we need saving in order to search for salvation, or happiness, or bliss, or whatever it is that you think you’re going to get out of it. Non-duality will not save anyone from their imagination that something is wrong.
As a matter of fact, let’s twist this around. Look at our efforts to save the Earth.
To save the world. We can’t really save the world. All we have to do is stop destroying it.
We can’t save Mother Earth. Mother Earth doesn’t need saved. Mother Earth is a big, huge ball of conscious life upon which we live and within which we live. All we have to do is stop destroying little places on the Earth, and everything will immediately grow back.
Life will—just come.
We are the same. We don’t need to be saved. Drop that idea.
This is what non-duality is so good at. It’s a very fancy way of saying, “Just stop it!”
That’s all non-duality means: There is not two. It’s time to examine life, to examine our relationship to life, to examine who we are.
Everything is so interconnected that all you have to do is discover who you are and—boom—the way you fit in becomes immediately obvious. Drop the things that are making you feel separate. That’s all you need to do.
Believing in the concepts of non-duality is not going to do it for you.
Really trusting existence itself is how we step out of the crust of beliefs we’ve been given. It’s how to step out of the fantasy that we need to be saved, that there’s something that needs to be saved. Step into reality, and then you can deal with every little part of your life from a new perspective, from a new stance. That brings strength and clarity, and ultimately wisdom. And then we’ll all live together better.
