Be Here Now

Be here now. You’ve heard of that statement before, right? This is the perfect example of how we take something that’s really profound and beautiful and turn it into concepts that confuse us.

The biggest problem with this statement is “be here now.” We focus on the “now.” You cannot have a “now” without a concept of future and past because “now” is the point where future and past meet. There would literally be no idea of “now” if we didn’t have an idea of future and didn’t have an idea of past.

Without those ideas of time we’d always just be floating along. We’d never make it to our appointments on time, that’s for sure.

But in a spiritual context when we focus on the “now,” we attempt to stop the movement in time and try to focus yourself right in this concept of “now.” That concept can’t exist because you can’t stop time. You can’t stop anything. Everything’s constantly going.

Even if you died right now, everything still keeps going. Your body still keeps disintegrating or turning into ash or whatever. Everybody around you, the entire Earth, all the people, keep going.

This video is a perfect example because if you actually watch the little timer on the video when I tried to stop, the timer kept going, right? Right? Everything keeps going.

So this idea of the “now,” is a fiction. It’s just as much of a fiction as our ego is a fiction and as our false self is a fiction. But look how easily we get distracted in it and stuck in it.

But here’s a secret for you: Be here now.” Don’t focus on the “now,” focus on the “here.” Be here, right here, wherever you are.

I’m sitting right here, you’re somewhere. You’re sitting somewhere. You might be standing, but you’re probably sitting, watching this video. Where are you? Feel where you are. Are you in a room? Are you on a floor? Are you on a chair? Are you in a building? Are you in a city? Are you in a state? Are you in a country? Are you on the Earth? Are you in the universe?

You are! Boom. One solid spot. Feel that.

Feel how if you are in the ‘here’ it doesn’t matter that the ticker on the timer is going. We can be here, right here. Simple, easy.

This is using a concept that actually works within the context of a human being. Here I am, here I am, me, right here. Feel how when you put yourself right here, now, all of a sudden, who you are is illumined in your consciousness.

I am here, this is me. Be here now. Be here, and the “now” just happens. Be here is always now.
