Nonduality is not two. When you look at that just straight on, it’s so obvious: there are not two of you. There’s particularly not two of you looking for nonduality; there’s only one of you looking for nonduality.
Now, let’s take that down a little bit more. Stop having the “you” that’s looking for nonduality and nonduality itself be two different things. You are looking for yourself; you’re already there. Nonduality is not two. There’s not you and who you can become. There’s not you and who you were. There’s not me and who I can become, and hopefully, you are not trying to become me.
Now, don’t get confused because there are numerous things in the world. Sometimes nonduality people start thinking, “There’s not two; that means I don’t exist.”
No, you exist.
“There’s not two” doesn’t mean there can’t be two trees in the forest. There are thousands and thousands and millions of trees in the forest. There are 8 billion human beings. Each one of us is our own self, even though we’re completely intertwined with each other. We each still exist, but each of us is not two. That’d be, what, 16 billion people?
Fortunately, There’s only one of each of us.
We can imagine ourselves to be so broken into so many different pieces. But that’s just imagination.
So… nonduality is not two. There’s not you and what you’re looking for. You’re not two people. You’re looking for who you actually are, and that’s why when you find it, it’s permanent and irreversible because you started out as who you are.
