Nonduality is related. Everything is related with everything else, just as my hand is related to my arm. It’s attached to my head and my legs. I am related to my environment. I’m related to the air. Take it a little step further out: I’m related to all the animals on the Earth. Native teachings tell us that these are my brothers and my sisters, even my wiser brothers and sisters who have something to teach me. Everything is related, and as you get more unified in your own self, the more you’re able to see the relationships that everything has with each other.
The more we’re able to see it, the more we’re able to live our lives in this related state where you know that what you do affects other people, and what other people do affects you too. That changes how we’re going to interact with people.
What I do affects my immediate reality, right? I have to get up and go to work every day. So do you. I have to eat, clean up after myself. So do you. So, everything is related, and the way that we live our lives is very important. We can see that through nonduality because there’s not two things happening; there’s one thing happening, and it’s all related.
