Nothing exists separate from Unity. The obviousness of that statement is mind-blowing… if you stop and look at it just for a second.
Unity means everything all together. So everything is there together. Nothing can be separate from that because everything is already in it. Nothing exists separate from Unity.
Another way I’ve heard that stated is nothing exists separate from the totality. But we tend to turn the idea of totality into some being.
The idea of unity blows your mind a bit better. So I like this.
This is a possible translation of the zikr phrase, La Illaha Il Allah.
This phrase can be translated as “There is no God but God.” And many people use that to say, “There’s no God but MY God. Your God is bad!”
A better translation is, “There is nothing but unity.” Allah is the nothing and everything of the vast unity of existence. There is nothing but Unity.
So nothing is separate from Unity. If we keep that idea in our minds as we go through the day there is a transformation. Nothing is separate. You are not separate from unity. Unity is this big huge giant thing. Everything is in it. You’re in it.
It’s different than the universe. A lot of people these days call on the universe as if it’s a thing. These days we like to pray to the universe. We’re big on the universe these days. We don’t like to say God, so we’ve turned him into the universe.
Try substituting the idea of unity for universe and you’ll find that you’re less able to separate yourself from it. You’re less able to be calling upon it for your needs.
You know how we are? Always asking “What is the universe trying to tell me? What is the universe giving me?”
Asking, “What is unity trying to tell me” makes less sense. That’s why it’s much better.
Unity. It’s kind of like infinity, capable of always being seen as bigger and bigger. You can’t you can’t personalize it as much. It can’t be a thing “out there.”
Unity is what we are inside of. Also what is inside of us. Nothing exists outside of unity. Nothing is separate from unity.
That’s why, when we bring ourselves down to the point where we can dissolve beliefs and perceptions we are able to look more simply and clearly. Look with the veil removed. Then you see yourself inside this. As part of this. As not separate from this.
If nothing can exist apart from unity, and you exist. Then that means that you’re in this Unity. You are this Unity. Ultimately you are unity looking out of your eyes at unity. Mind-blowing.
Pow!
