Yep. That person is you. Surprise!
An interesting way to look at Nonduality is that only one person is living your life. It might feel like more. Your brain can create all sorts of personalities, all sorts of different thoughts, all sorts of feelings, but it’s you. It’s you living your life.
You’re sitting there, perhaps, and saying no, that’s not non-duality. This is talking about one and we’re supposed to be talking about not two. But if you really look, really experience your life, you will experience this one that I’m talking about.
You can’t look at yourself. Right? That’s one of the basic non dual teachings.
But if you relax into “who am I?” You find that there is an experience. There is no definition for it. There is no word that describes it. There’s no emotion that feels it. The closest thing we have to being able to describe it is that it’s zero. It’s nothing. You are indescribable.
The trick of not two
That’s what makes it so tricky.
It’s also what makes it so obvious when you find it. You are the only one living in your life.
You were the one living your life when you were three years old old. You were the one living your life when you were thirteen. You were the one living your life last week. And you are the one living your life right this very second.
You are the point that’s looking out through your eyes. You are the point that’s hearing through your ears. You’re the point that’s feeling through your body. There is no separation between this thing that I would call me and you would call you. There’s no separation between me and my body. There’s no separation between me and what I’m seeing.
We are all part of the exact same universe. There’s no difference between me here and you watching this video. I’m looking at you, you’re looking at me. Who is it that’s living your life? There’s only that point that we have to call Nothingness.
It’s nothing. There are no words but we have to call it YOU. I have to call it me. You have to call yourself you. You are you. The only one living your life.
