If what I have to say about the intersection between native spirituality and nonduality starts to make sense to people, and starts to be a basic understanding of our paradigm, it’s going to be the end of gurus. That’ll be interesting, right? None of us like gurus anyway. Let’s get rid of the idea that someone can be higher than us on the spiritual plane. That’s a ridiculous idea.
It’s ridiculous.
There are some people who have definitely attained the non-dual state, but they’re not higher. They’re not higher than anybody else. As a matter of fact, when you really, really look at it, an enlightened person has stepped off the idea of hierarchy. In fact, they are lower, softer than everybody else.
So that will be an interesting outcome of this discussion.
The big secret to making this happen is to stop thinking that enlightenment is a difficult attainment. If we see it as natural and normal this old hierarchy will drop away. This is where the intersection between Nonduality and Native spirituality will go.
