The Enlightened is Neither Male or Female

Eastern Enlightenment Traditions come from very male dominated traditions. But simply changing the pronouns that we use for it, or the words we use, doesn’t bring clarity. And note… this is only about the search for enlightenment. It’s not about search for identity, or equal rights, or anything else. It’s just the “I am”.

Very often, if you read anything from the past, it’s gonna always say the word “man” when they’re talking about Humanity or a person. If you’re a woman and interested in Enlightenment, or searching for enlightenment, it’s really important to understand that the essence in you which becomes enlightened (even the essence in you that is searching) is exactly the same thing that is inside a man. It does not need to have a pronoun. Any pronoun will do. A male pronoun will do. You don’t have to change it to the female.

Don’t isolate yourself from the teachings. Actually listen to what you’re being taught. How does it speak to you when when an ancient Master says something about the quality of man. You can have same quality.

Listen to what you’re being told. Otherwise you’re going to always be stopped and it’s really important that women stop being stopped. Don’t let these things get in the way of you becoming a full awakened human being.

If we waste our time constantly worrying about and attacking the culture that these things came from, rather than looking at them as a tool to create our own enlightened future, we’re not going to get anywhere. If we don’t actually wake up we’re not going to be any better… we’re not going to be ANY better!

We could destroy every male word in the whole language and we’re gonna be asleep. We’ll still just walk around being the regular asses that we are.

So don’t let these things stop you. The essence that is inside you is an essence that is connected to everything.

Same thing for a man. Don’t let these male words make you feel that you’re bringing up some sort of male quality, because you’re not.

Also don’t fall into the trap of worrying about these really small, unimportant semantics. What really matters is that all of us find this essence inside. All of us!

Find this live being that we are. The I am that that I am. Then you’re actually coming from your full liveness. Then you can start really joining in the world, really belonging and being part of the consciousness that is the connection. You can be connected. Once you’re connected then we can start working on making our society work for everyone. Until then ego is the ruler.

Ego rules women as equally as it rules men. Let’s bring out our Humanity.
