The pillar is not holding you. That’s obvious. But what we’re talking about is stuff that’s going on in your mind. Right? It feels real. So real.
Emotions feel very real emotions… because they are. Emotions are actual chemicals shooting out of your brain in into your body. That’s why you say you feel emotions. Because you can feel them.
Thoughts are what create emotions. In scientific reality your thoughts are real, your emotions are real. What spirituality is talking about, what Zen is talking about, what non-duality is talking about, is your attachment to these things. The only problem is being lost in the thoughts. Being lost in the emotions. It feels like something that is impossible to let go.
That’s exactly what Sheik Farid is showing in our story today, “Save me from the pillar!” He’s showing how we hold on to these things. They aren’t holding on to you.
You can drop the attachment to things just like letting go of the pillar. Nothing will be hurt if you do it.
It’s like forgiveness. You can forgive somebody without that meaning that whatever they did was good. Forgiveness has nothing to do with them. Forgiveness is a choice you make in yourself.
Same with letting go You just let it go. Just like letting go of the pillar.
