What is the true self? Well, I’ll tell you one thing is that it doesn’t have edges. It doesn’t have pieces. It is just the hum of the universe that you and I both are.
All the things we believe separate us from reality. Things like “I’m manifesting as a human body to learn.” That splits you into a limited being using words that don’t describe reality well. And then you spend all your time worrying about what you’re manifesting, what you’re learning and who you are and what you’re doing, and you don’t have a solid core.
That kind of belief is just crazy. Keep it simple. I am.
We don’t really need any more explanation than that. I am.
Nisargadatta’s teacher told him to just abide in the “I am” and you will get there. When he was asked, “How did you become enlightened?”, he said, “I just did what my teacher told me. I just abided in the I am.”
Didn’t take him very long. “I am” is simple. No complication to it.
I am.
Doesn’t make really good articles though. Over and over: “I am. I am. I am.”
But that is really what you’re looking for to know who you are. I am.
I am.
