Let’s try some experiments about how vast and pliable you are. This experiment is going to be a little backwards from what you’re usually told to do in spirituality, but it’s going to help you really explore yourself.
Start out by feeling your breath. Feel it gently as it pulls into your nose, how it touches you inside, and then it’s released. Now imagine, as you breathe in, that you’re breathing in all the pain and misery in the world. Hold it for a brief second and then as you breathe out breathe out all the love and joy in existence. Feel the transformation as you do it.
Breathe in all the misery. Transform it, and breathe out all the love and joy.
So. All the pain and misery in the whole world can be changed in an instant inside you if you’re concentrating on doing it. right? You just felt it. You just did it. You are an an ordinary human being and can do this. So this means you don’t have to run from bad vibes there’s need to release pain and misery into the universe, or or try to get over it. Just that little bit of awareness while you were doing Atisha’s exercise is enough to prove it.
You don’t even have to have inner peace, complete 100 percent inner peace in order to do this. You simply have to have the intention.
Your natural inner silence is the transforming force. There’s no need to draw in good energy. You have the power and the Mastery inside yourself to transform it anytime.
Most of the time, in affirmation practices, we’re told to avoid the bad, and get rid of it. You don’t have to. You’re strong enough to breathe it in and transform it yourself.
And this is also an opportunity to bust another assumption. You assume that you’re full of garbage right now, and all the good stuff is waiting to happen to you some other time. But this exercise proves that you can transform it yourself anytime you want.
