Our Zen story this week, with Atisha’s exercise, shows us that we are stronger and more capable than we think. We are also more connected than we have been led to believe.
In this exercise you breathe in all the negativity of the world and then you transform it in your heart and you breathe out positivity. At first glance you might think this would take a lot of strength, but actually it’s a natural human ability. We are always able to transform ourselves inside.
It’s not like you’re changing the whole world, right? You breathe in negativity. You breathe out positivity. What you are changing, mostly, is yourself.
But here’s the secret: when you change yourself, because of the fact that you are a part of everything, you are actually changing everything.
You can do this with your own negativity too. Breathe It In Breathe Out positivity.
Now that doesn’t mean that you are then, from that second on, going to be positive for every single second of your life. And it doesn’t mean that you need to always be positive, because the transformation is always possible.
You are much stronger than you think. You’re much more capable than you can ever imagine, and you are so intrinsically connected with the entire universe that your possibilities are boundless.
