Unselfish Motivation

Most important in the process of finding out who you are: do it with the most unselfish motivation possible. You’re trying to find how you blend in with all of reality, and all the rest of us really do exist. You really do exist. Know that this is not just about you. This is about everything and everyone else.

— What you do matters —

A funny little detail about nonduality, the nondual search, is that you are the one who is searching and you’re searching for yourself. So, if this is the case, we need to do this within a field of togetherness with all humanity. We need to have a basic unselfish motivation in order to do this; otherwise, it turns into a nightmare of narcissistic thought: You know, that whole scene of, “I don’t exist, what I do doesn’t matter,” and all that kind of mental eruptions. You do exist; what you do in your life does matter.
