Nonduality is funny.One of the biggest lies we’ve been taught is to turn spirituality into a serious pursuit. It creates all sorts of madness.
Here we are, running around trying to find ourselves. That’s crazy. It’s like a dog chasing its tail. Even if it does catch it, it ends up biting itself, right? One thing about a dog chasing its tail is you never see the dog stop and start laughing at itself. And this is one thing that human beings can definitely do: stop, have a good laugh at ourselves.
When we’re laughing at ourselves, we’re seeing ourselves honestly and truthfully and in the moment, just here, right? Because we’re silly creatures. We’re able to see that. That’s one of the advantages of our big, huge brains and our self-consciousness, right? Where we’re able to see ourselves. So the more humor we can put into our spiritual search, the more honest and true we’re going to be.
